Carpentry Class

November 10 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

This is Carpentry 101, taught by Brother Joe DiFonzo! We’re going to talk about hand tools, power tools, materials, and hardware, and get hands-on experience with everything we can in the classroom.
This class focuses on the world of fabrication as it pertains to theatrical carpentry. We will take a deep dive on what’s in our tool belts, as well as what sort of skill set can be helpful on a load-in workday.
This is a two-day course, divided into four, three-hour sessions.
Day one will focus on physical examples and tool safety, while the second day will have practical, hands-on applications for all participants.
Both days will involve hands-on work with the tools, but the second day will focus on applying them in our own workplaces.
